Phils lost. The better team won. Most of our key hitters hit near .200, the bullpen did not come up big nor did anyone pitching not named Cliff Lee. We have a great core to work with moving in to 2010 so we could be back. How nice would it be for us to have a closer like Mariano versus Lidge?
We have the Eagles to entertain us (Flyers too). Wonder what will happen Sunday night against Dallas. Is Dallas a bigger rival than the Giants? Everyone was loving Donovan this week. But what if one or two of his deflected passes at the line were intercepted? Hope we do not find out this week.
Some very interesting news out of Breckenridge, CO: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33620180/ns/politics-more_politics/ 72% is a big number and speaks largely about the views from general society, no? And since thinking of Colorado, a reminder we are heading to Vail this year: www.PhillyTrips.com. Not sure of the latest count but I know we had about 30 people signed up for Vail and about the same for Lake Placid.
I have made the mental commitment to bring the newsletter to HTML. I downloaded a HTML converter this week but it is not going to do the trick. If anyone out there can help me, please let me know.
And I wanted to throw a mention out to Temple U football. They actually have won seven games in a row. I realize they are not doing it in the Big East but at least they have been able to make progress with the program. http://www.philly.com/philly/sports/colleges/temple/69354977.html
And lastly, real estate. The federal home credit was extended through the spring for the $8000 first time home buyer credit. I just had two buyers take advantage of it this month. It really is an $8000 check from the government that shows up in the mail. And for those in their house for five years, there is a $6500 credit if you buy a new home. For more details about it, please email me. As always, I am happy to help you (or your friends) buy or sell a home. - Mark

1) Naughty Bingo
Weds, Nov 11, 7-10pm Ladder 15 http://www.naughtybingophilly.com
This is a new Philadelphia event which brings you a different and unorthodox, to say the least, version of traditional bingo. If you’re easily offended and don’t like to have fun, then Naughty Bingo is not for you!! Prepare to scream, yell, curse and get rowdy and raunchy!! There will be many prizes given out all night long…and no, we’re not talking a Barnes and Noble gift card...these are of an, ummm, let’s say more “adult nature”. Think vibrating bunnies… We guarantee some good, clean…ok, more like dirty…fun. Please don’t blame us if you leave all hot and bothered, but we will keep you coming back for more…and coming…and coming…and…oh my…
At each bingo event, there will be food and drink specials and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to charity. If you have a charity that is special to you, drop us a note and we’ll try to include it. Looking forward to seeing you at the next Naughty Bingo event!

34) 17th Annual Bridesmaids’ Ball
Young Philly Professionals join The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for the 17th Annual Bridesmaids’ Ball!
On Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the Grand Hall at the Independence Visitor Center in Philadelphia, from 9 pm to 1 am, join singles and couples from the Philadelphia area as they raise funds that will be used to support life-saving research, education and patient services programs of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
“The Bridesmaids’ Ball, a unique social event for young professionals over the age of twenty-one in the Philadelphia metropolitan area, is an opportunity to celebrate the ghosts of weddings past with all the fun and excitement of a reception without the hassle of a gift registry.”, said A.J.Tilson, Chairman of the Bridesmaids Ball. “Women are able to wear that old bridesmaid’s dress one more time, or a cocktail dress! Men can arrive in a coat and tie or a pastel tux! Women wearing those old bridesmaid dresses can compete in the “Ugliest Dress” contest; men donning their tackiest tuxes with ruffled shirts can enter the “Tackiest Tux” contest.”, continued Tilson.
The evening will include an open bar, a special dessert tasting, dancing, live music by local band Split Decision, and fantastic prizes.
“Since its start in 1993, the Bridesmaids’ Ball has raised over $700,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.” said Ursula Raczak, Deputy Executive Director. Raczak continued “Tickets are discounted to $65 thru October 31st. After that, tickets will be $75 and can be purchased online or at the door that evening.”
If you would like to join us for this fantastic evening for a good cause, please call 800.482.2873 or visit us on the web at http://epa.bridesmaid.llsevent.org.
